About

I came into photography whilst working for my Art History M.A. in St Andrews, Scotland. I've always taken pictures, but it wasn't until I studied the works of the greats as part of my course that I felt inspired to pick up a camera with any real sense of purpose. In late 2007 I became the owner of my first D-SLR and quickly came to appreciate the creative potential photography offered for exploring a personal view of the world. Before long my interest in the captured image and my love of the outdoors had fused into a passion for landscape and nature photography.

For me landscape photography is about more than just documenting locations, collecting memories or making pretty pictures. It's as much about the experience of exploring the great outdoors and developing a deeper understanding of the natural world. The mark of a successful landscape photograph for me is one which not only evokes the essence of a moment or place, but which goes beyond a literal representation to communicate on an emotional level. Put simply my images are a celebration of the beauty and wonder all around us. I hope they speak for themselves!
